Julie Murphy's Driving School offers intensive driving courses with male and female driving instructors. Our instructors are fully qualified, very experienced, CRB checked and licensed by the DSA. We strive to make all intensive lessons enjoyable, fun and productive. All our driving instructors work to a high standard, are patient, reliable and pride themselves with excellent first time pass rates.
We offer intensive driving courses tailored to your needs and we can advise you on which course would best suit you after you have taken a two hour assessment lesson. We offer courses in and around the Swindon and Wiltshire area.
The course taken is dependent on whether you have had any previous experience, are a complete beginner or have taken a test previously and failed. Complete beginners are not recommended for these courses as they are too intense with no previous experience. Don't despair if you are a beginner and want to pass quickly - we offer semi-intensive courses.
Courses are generally booked 4 weeks in advance, but don't let this put you off contacting us as earlier dates may be available dependant on instructor availability and test waiting times. A teaching day is generally 5/6 hours with regular breaks which can be agreed with your instructor as everyone is different. We pick you up and drop you off at the start and end of the day as long as you live or are staying in and around the Swindon and Wiltshire area.
All intensive courses offered can be taken over a maximum period of two weeks but are tailored to your needs. Weekends can be included in this time frame subject to availability if you require and the courses can start on any day of the week. The test is taken in the last hour of the course. All courses require a deposit on booking and the test fee in order for the test to be booked and the course start date to be confirmed. The deposit is non-refundable, whereas the test fee may be refundable if it meets the DVSA booking office terms and conditions. The balance of the course fee is required 14 days prior to the start of the course.
This course is tailored to a pupil who has no previous driving experience or road sense (i.e. not driven a moped). This course will be generally done semi intensively so can be paid in smaller blocks of 10.

This course is tailored to a pupil who has perhaps driven a moped so will have some road sense and is quick to learn, with good co-ordination.

This course is tailored to a pupil who has recently had 5 hours of driving tuition and has limited road sense.

This course is tailored to a pupil who has recently had 10 hours of driving tuition and has experience on the roads.

This course is tailored to a pupil who has recently had 15-20 hours of driving tuition and has experience on the roads.

This course is tailored to a pupil who has recently failed a test, is nearly test ready, or has recently had 30 hours of driving tuition and needs to gain further confidence and experience.

Hold and produce your provisional driving license . We will require some license details to book your test slot.
Have taken and successfully passed your theory test, you will need to provide your theory test certificate number in order for us to book your test slot.
Be available for your lessons on the days and times agreed by you and your instructor on booking.
Have available funds to pay for your test, and deposit relevant to the course you are booking.
